Nissen cable produce and processes their cable housings all in Japan.
We mainly use Nissen or Shimano cable housings on the bikes we build. The Nissen cable housings are very flexible compared to the Shimano ones.
The silver one that is dangling further is the Nissen cable housing and the other is the Shimano. This flexibility is the reason why Nissen is better when the cable routing is a bit tricky on the builds. Flexible cable housing, gives less friction with the inner cables, making the brake and shifters to feel smoother.
Don’t underestimate the importance of cable housing!
